Birdwatching

4Bs has a travel library where we also include several informative materials dedicated to the theme of bird watching in our region and in Portugal. For an initial approach, we suggest consulting the Rota de Observação de Aves – Portugal Wildscapes. To get to know the most representative sites on the ground and accompanied by local experts, we recommend our Birdwatching Tours with Local Guide. Also visit the Environmental Education Center of Vale Gonçalinho and learn about the work that the League for the Protection of Nature has done for the preservation of birdlife in the region.

Self-guided trails

Portugal Wildscapes has several bird watching routes in our region! Take a look at: www.portugalwildscapes.com

The Special Protection Area (SPA) of Castro Verde integrates the core area of the "Campo Branco", a peneplain region dedicated to extensive agriculture and livestock, whose predominant habitat is extensive agricultural areas, devoid of tree and shrub vegetation. Holm oak forests of varying density, heathlands dominated by cistus and traditional olive groves also occur. The forest area has recently increased due to recent afforestation of stone pine and holm oak.

½ day: from 75€ (Castro Verde SPE)
1 day: from 100€ (Castro Verde ZPE and Guadiana Valley Natural Park).
